Celebrity chef, TV star, and restaurateur partners with Belk stores to launch new line of affordable, high quality household items
MIAMI, FLA. (January 17, 2008) - Internationally respected celebrity chef and Latina TV star, Lorena Garcia announced she will team with Belk, the country's largest privately-held department store, on a signature line of Lorena GarciaTM home products that will be available beginning in February, 2008. The collection will consist of unique tabletop, cookware and housewares products, as well as bedding.
"My inspiration in designing this line was to create high quality items that I use in my restaurant and home while making them available to Belk customers at an affordable price. The designs and colors used throughout the line make each piece outstanding," said Garcia. "It truly is a reflection of my personality and my passion for good living."
Garcia, a culinary innovator, Latina TV star and owner of the celebrated Elements restaurant in Miami's design district, is known for her creative approach to cooking while combining her authentic Latin flair.

About Lorena Garcia
Lorena Garcia was born in Venezuela and is a graduate of the world-renowned Johnson & Wales University Culinary Arts School. She trained in top restaurants in Paris, Italy, Japan, Korea, Thailand and China. She is the owner and executive chef of the celebrated ‘Elements' restaurant in Miami's Design District. Garcia's media background includes hosting ‘Con Saxon,' a weekly national cooking show on Univison Radio, and hosting regular cooking segments on both the Univison and Telemundo cable television networks. Her personal style and approach to cooking have landed her on the pages of Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Kiplinger's and Entrepreneur among other top lifestyle publications and her ‘Big Chef Little Chef' program in which she works with school aged children and their parents to teach them about nutrition and how to cook and eat properly, has been reported on by hundreds of media outlets across the U.S. and Latin America.
