Healthy Eating for Men

It’s your turn to host Monday Night Football. You’ve noticed though that over the course of the season you’re starting to look more and more like one of the players on the team – problem is, he has pads on, you don’t.

Women and men both worry about their weight. It’s not that men don’t want to eat healthy, it’s just that they sometimes think it’s more difficult.

Here’s some easy things that will help you keep the flavor and lose the fat (you’re buddies will secretly be thanking you too)!

  1. Popeye was right! Spinach is the ultimate man food! What’s it good for? Muscle growth, heart healthy, bone builder, sexual enhancement and enhances eyesight. If you’re doing a pre-game brunch, add spinach to scrambled eggs with a couple drops of hot sauce; toss some spinach on your half-time pizza or mix it with marinara sauce and then microwave for an instant dip.
  2. Bake ‘em! For a new take on traditional chicken wings, try my ginger orange glazed chicken wings to really get things kickin’! Instead of getting out the deep fryer, get out a baking sheet and toss them in the oven. You’ll have all of the flavor and a lot less fat! Make sure you have lots of celery and carrot sticks and some low-fat blue cheese!
  3. Veggies that taste good: Try a chicken ciabatta sandwiches with grilled chicken breast, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes and drizzle on some cilantro dressing. The avocado is rich in vitamins (over 20!) and the tomatoes are a great cancer fighter! Head over to my recipe section to get the details.
  4. Get out the grill! Add some Latin spice to the game with a char-grilled churrasco steak served with a side of black beans, sweet plantains and steamed rice will make everyone look forward to half-time!
