Celebrity Chef on Cover of Kiplinger's March Issue
MIAMI, FL - Chef, restaurateur and media personality Lorena Garcia leads pack in the latest issue of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's cover story, "Yes, You Can Make a Million." The issue profiles 11 successful men and women who have turned their dreams into a reality. Lorena shares her inspirational journey - how she turned a background in law into a prosperous career in the culinary arts.
Today, Lorena is owner and executive chef of her restaurant, Elements, in Miami's Design District and most recently, Aqua Market, where she sells her secret sauces from her restaurant. She has gone on to host several hit cooking shows on MGM's ‘Casa Club TV' and Univision Radio and she is the spokeswoman for Splenda and Nestle Hispanic brands. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Lorena has put her success to good, tackling the epidemic of childhood obesity. Her non-profit organization, Big Chef, Little Chef teaches children - and their families - how to take control of their cooking and eating habits. This spring Lorena will partner with the American Diabetes Association.
In the article, Lorena cites her recipe for success as hard work and determination. "You have so many opportunities to be discouraged, but you have to believe that one day it's going to happen," she says.
